Rachel Wade Guilty of Sarah Ludemann Murder; Teenage Love Triangle Verdict

The jury has reached a verdict in the slaying of Sarah Ludemann (shown left) by the other woman (Rachel Wade - on right) in a bizarre love triangle involving a man who was involved with both women.

CLEARWATER, Fla. (CBS/WTSP) Rachel Wade has been found guilty of second-degree murder for the death of Sarah Ludemann.

The jury, which deliberated for less than three hours, sided with prosecutors who said that Wade had murdered Ludemann in April 2009 because the two were involved with same young man, Joshua Camacho.

The judge had told the jury that there were three options: guilty of second-degree murder, guilty of manslaughter, or innocent.

The 20-year-old Wade began sobbing as she stood next to her attorney, Jay Hebert.

“She’s devastated. She can’t believe it. I think she’s somewhat in shock. She was crying Continue reading

The Exploits and Misadventures of Onion Boy – 9

The layers of deception run deep; outwardly you would be none the wiser

Random snippets of real life drama with an ex-husband who lived to lie and cheat and cover his tracks and situations where he financially, emotionally and physically abused. As in many things in life, the truth was buried…buried deep within the layers of the infamous cheater who we will call Onion Boy (O.B. for short). We will strip away the layers for all to see the loser is not the victim but the man who believes he can lie so well that he will never be caught…

During the last few months of any pregnancy come the escalation of the doctor’s visits and preparation for the hospital stay, etc. Mine was no exception. I went to all the duly appointed doctor’s appointments and ultra-sounds. By myself. At this point, I suppose I had resigned myself to knowing or at least acknowledging some part that I was in this alone. Continue reading

Child abuse appears to raise risk of heart disease

CTV.ca News Staff

People who were physically abused as children appear to have much higher rates of heart disease, new research from the University of Toronto finds.

The researchers found that people who were physically abused as children were 45 per cent more likely to develop heart disease as an adult than their peers who had not been abused.

Study author Esme Fuller-Thomson, a professor at U of T’s Faculty of Social Work and Department of Family and Community Medicine says her team’s findings were based on data from a 2005 Statistics Canada survey conducted in Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

They looked at data on 13,000 respondents who answered a number of questions for the survey.

“Those questions included: while you were under 18 and still living at home, were you physically abused by somebody close to you?” Fuller-Thomson told CTV’s Canada AM Friday. Continue reading

While I was pregnant, there was a great excuse for if someone caught me crying at work or anywhere else for that matter, it was just my hormones kicking it up a notch. Unless they were close to me, there were many that didn’t know about O.B. and his shenanighans. To say I was embarrassed and ashamed by my circumstance would be a severe understatement. Iran woman escapes stoning death for adultery

BBC NEWS

Ms Ashtiani says she was forced to confess to adultery during questioning

The authorities in Iran have announced that a woman convicted of adultery will not be stoned to death.

But it is not clear whether they have lifted the death sentence against Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, who has been in prison in Tabriz since 2006.

The 43-year-old had already been punished with flogging for an “illicit relationship” outside marriage when another court tried her for adultery.

There has been an international campaign to prevent her being stoned.

UK Foreign Secretary William Hague said stoning was a “medieval punishment” and that its continued use showed Iran’s disregard for human rights.

“If the punishment is carried out, it will disgust and appal the watching world,” he told a news conference in London on Thursday. Continue reading
